Academy Military Equal Opportunity Leader

SFC Barnes, Alanna enlisted into the Army from New Orleans, Louisiana in August 2006. She attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training in Fort Jackson, SC where she was awarded the military occupational specialty of 42A, Human Resources Specialist from Charlie Company 369th Adjutant General Battalion.
SFC Barnes has served in numerous positions from Senior Human Resources Sergeant, Drill Sergeant to Military Equal Opportunity Advisor. SFC Barnes assignments include Fort Hood, Schofield Barracks, Fort Shafter, Fort Jackson, Fort Drum, Fort Campbell and Fort Gordon. She also supported Operation Iraqi Freedom at Forward Operating Base Falcon, Iraq, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel in Kabul, Afghanistan and Operation European Assure Deter and Reinforce in Mihail Kogalniceanu, Romania.
SFC Barnes’ military training includes the Equal Opportunity Advisor Course, The United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy, Combat Life Savers Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Master Resiliency Trainer, Postal Operations, Manpower and Force Management, Common Faculty Development – Instructor Course (CFD-IC) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
SFC Barnes’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (8OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal (1OLC), Army Achievement Medal w/C Device, Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation (1OLC), Army Superior Unit Award (2OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (5 knots), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1CS), Iraq Campaign Medal (2CS), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), NATO Medal, Certificate of Achievement (2), Drill Sergeant Identification Badge and Instructor Badge.
