Mr. Robert V. Kazimer assumed duties as the Deputy to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and Fort Gordon, Georgia on February 21, 2016.
He was born in Meriden, Connecticut, graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and was commissioned as an Engineer Second Lieutenant in June 1978. Colonel Kazimer retired from the Army on February 1, 2007 after more than 28 years of active service. He culminated his service as the Director, Business Mission Area, Office of the Deputy under Secretary of the Army, Washington DC.
Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Kazimer served for more than five years as the Director of Corporate Information and Chief Information Officer for the US Army Corps of Engineers where he led worldwide IT service delivery. In prior assignments he served as Director, Governance, Acquisition, and Chief Knowledge Officer, HQDA CIO/G-6; Director, Business Mission Area, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Army; Chief, Pacific Division, Center for Army Analysis, Ft. Belvoir, VA; Chief, Plans Division, HQDA, G-1; Deputy Director, Plans, Resources, and Operations, HQDA, G-1; Chief, Strategic Studies and Analysis, U.S. Strategic Command, Omaha, NE and the Chief, Operations Analysis, U.S. Forces Korea, Seoul, Korea.
Mr. Kazimer holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Nuclear Engineering concentration from the United States Military Academy, West Point. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School with a Master of Science degree in Operations Research and Systems Engineering. UNITED STATES ARMY CYBER CENTER OF EXCELLENCE Mr. Kazimer’s awards and decorations include the Civilian Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal; Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, and the Army Staff Identification Badge. Mr. Kazimer was awarded the Silver de Fleury Medal by the Engineer Regiment.
