Course Scope:

Upon completion of this course the student will be a professional with the comprehensive fitness, tactical and technical competence required to perform basic information technology (IT) fundamental skills; install tactical and commercial fiber, cabling, and wiring; engineer, install, operate, and defend Program of Record (POR) and Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) highspeed Internet Protocol (IP)-based voice, data, and video network transport communications equipment in vehicular or dismounted applications at required classification level on-the-move or at-the-halt; engineer, install, operate, and defend POR and COTS line-of sight (LOS) radio and beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) transmission systems. Perform field level unit maintenance on assigned Communications & Electronic (C&E) systems and Communications Security (COMSEC) devices. Operate and performs Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on assigned vehicles and power generators in an Operational Environment (OE).

Special Information: 

Physical Demand: Occasionally lifts/lowers and carries 150 pounds (communication transit cases) as part of a two (2) Soldier team (prorated 75 pounds per Soldier) a vertical distance of 5 feet and a horizontal distance of 100 feet while wearing/carrying 80 pounds of uniform and combat equipment. Soldier will be required to pass the individual physical demand test and meet all requirements as outlined in the Individual Student Assessment Plan to graduate this course.
