Cyber Capabilities Developer Officer - 17D

Purpose

As a Cyber Capabilities Development Officer, you will develop software and hardware solutions to enable Cyberspace and Electromagnetic Warfare Operations within Army and Joint Service formations. You’ll utilize personnel, resources, methods, and technical/programming skills to enable and enhance cyberspace operations and electromagnetic warfare missions.

Requirements

  • Be a college graduate with at least a four-year degree
  • Be between 18 and 34 years old
  • Officer Basic Leadership Course (Or Additional Special Courses/Qualifications)
  • Able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Training

Cyber Warfare Officer receive approximately six to nine months of initial training focused in the following areas:

  • Army and Joint Doctrine, Policy, and Authorities
  • Cyber and EW Threats
  • Cyberspace and Electromagnetic Warfare Operations, Planning, Synchronization, and Integration
  • Fundamentals of the Electromagnetic Spectrum
  • Electrical, EW, and EMS Principles and Theories
  • Characteristics of Communications Networks, Antennas, Electro-Optics, and EW Systems
  • Space-Based Capabilities
  • Signals Intelligence Support to EW
