Cyber Operations Specialist - 17C
Purpose
As a Cyber Operations Specialist, you will generate cyber effects in order to protect data, networks, net-centric capabilities, and other designated systems by detecting, identifying, and responding to attacks against friendly networks. You will produce integrated and synchronized cyber effects with other lethal and nonlethal actions by employing devices, computer programs or techniques including combinations of software, firmware, or hardware designed to create an effect in or through cyberspace.

Requirements
- Be a U.S. citizen
- 110 ASVAB score: General Technical (GT)
- 112 ASVAB score: Skilled Technical (ST)
- High school graduate or equivalent prior to entry on active duty
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) Clearance
- A physical demands rating of moderate (Gold)
- A physical profile of 222221
- No information in military personnel, Provost Marshal, intelligence, or medical records that would prevent the granting of a security eligibility under AR 380-67 (para 2-4)
- No record of conviction by court-martial
- No record of conviction by a civil court for any offense other than minor traffic violations
Training
Cyber Electromagnetic Warfare Officers receive approximately three months of specialized training focused in the following areas:
- 10 Weeks of basic training
- 36 Weeks of advanced individual training Basic/Advanced computer operating systems (Windows and Linux)
- Basic/Advanced computer networking
- Computer Network Defense, Attack, and Exploitation
- Computer Programming
- Computer Security
