Purpose 

Provide the student with specific training in managing and recognizing network threats and vulnerabilities, data encryption, wireless network security, securing Cisco routers, firewalls, and Intrusion Detection Systems.

Course Scope 

Prepare DoD civilians, officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel for a position as a Network Manager in Information Assurance Technology (IAT) and Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I, II, or III in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M.

Pre-requisites 

  • IA Vulnerability Management (https://iatraining.us.armymil) - estimated time: 2 working days. Using AKO or CAC logon, go to courses and click on CX-I AMN – IA Vulnerability Management.
  • IA Technical Level I course (Skill Port> CIO G-6/NETCOM Information Assurance> Technical Level I Certification) - estimated time: 5-7 working days.

Special Information 

This course is available to all Department of the Army (DA) personnel which includes; DA civilians, government contractors, enlisted, officers, and warrant officers. Students enrolled in the course will wear appropriate attire while attending the class. Military will wear OCPs or the service equivalent. Civilians will wear appropriate attire (i.e. business casual).
