Maj. Gen. Stefanie Horvath

Deputy Commanding General, Army National Guard

MG Stefanie Horvath was assigned as the Assistant Adjutant General in December 2023 and the Deputy Commanding General, CCoE, in January 2024.
Horvath’s path into information technology in the Minnesota National Guard began in 1999. She created capabilities that never existed before. These include the migration of an entire division network to a new satellite communications system while deployed with the 34th “Red Bull” Infantry Division, the creation of the Women’s Leadership Forum, and the creation of the Cyber Protection Team.
Outside of the military, MG Horvath is the chief business technology officer at Minnesota Information Technology Services where she delivers enterprise IT services to Minnesota’s executive branch, boards, commissions and councils.
BG Horvath holds a bachelor's in Criminal Justice & Sociology from North Dakota State University, a master's in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and a master's in Cyber Security from EC-Council University.
She was posted in Basrah, Iraq Feb. 2009 to April 2010 with G6, 34th Infantry Division and with the S6 2-135th Infantry Battalion, Mankato, Min and Kosovo Sept. 2003 - Sept. 2004.
