Chief Warrant Officer 5 Chris Westbrook is the 7th Regimental Chief Warrant Officer. CWO-5 Westbrook was the Senior Technical Advisor and Chief of Market Research for the Network Cross-Functional Team, Army Futures Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. He enlisted in the Army in 1996 and attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He continued to Electronic Switching Systems Operator/Maintainer (31F) Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
His enlisted assignments include Node Center Supervisor, B Co. 123d Signal Battalion, Fort Stewart, GA, and Platoon Sergeant for the 275th Signal Company, 41st Signal Battalion, Yongsan, Korea.
He received his appointment to Warrant Officer in May 2003 upon graduation from Warrant Officer Candidate School. His previous assignments include: System Control Center (SYSCON) Officer-In-Charge, 331st Signal Company, Fort Riley, Kansas, Network Operations OIC, 601st Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas, Network Engineer and Senior Signal Warrant, 1st Infantry Division HQ, Fort Riley, Kansas, Mission Command Assessment Team Lead, Forces Command (FORSCOM) G6, Fort Bragg, NC, Network Engineer and Senior Signal Warrant for a Special Mission Unit, Fort Bragg, NC, Regional Hub Node – Experimentation OIC for the Cyber Battle Lab, Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Gordon, GA., and Command Chief Warrant Officer of 7th Signal Command (Theater). CW5 Westbrook has deployed in three combat tours with all in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. He has also deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of Stabilization Force (SFOR) 8. CW5 Westbrook's schools include the Warrant Officer Basic, Advanced, Staff, and Senior Service Education courses, Survive, Evade, Resist, and Escape (SERE) (High-Risk), the Officer Combat Skills Course, and the Capability Developer's Course.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from Grantham University and a Master of Arts in Information Technology Management from Webster University.
CWO-5 Westbrook's awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal among others to include the Bronze Order of Mercury.
