CW5 Brian Matthews

Command Chief Warrant Officer

CW5 Brian D. Matthews is the 4th Chief Warrant Officer of the Branch (CWOB) for the U.S. Army Cyber and Electromagnetic Warfare School headquartered in Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. In 1998, he attended Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. In October 2005, he applied for and was assessed as an Army Warrant Officer and was appointed Warrant Officer One on March 7, 2006. Upon graduation from the Military Intelligence Warrant Officer Basic Course, he was awarded MOS 352, SIGINT Intelligence Technician.

His Warrant Officer assignments in the Military Intelligence Branch include the 532nd MI BN and the 527th MI BN at USAG Humphreys, Korea, culminating his MI career as the SIGINT Operations Chief at the CENTCOM Theater Support Activity – Afghanistan (TSA), 513th MI BDE, Fort Eisenhower, GA.

His Warrant Officer career in the Cyber Branch includes roles such as Exploitation Analyst and Operations Officer at the 781st MI BN (Cyber), Ft. Meade, MD; Combat Mission Team Senior Technical Advisor at the 782nd MI BN (Cyber), Fort Gordon, GA; Cyber Tactical Operations Center Technical Director at Joint Forces Headquarters – Cyber (JFHQ-C), Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER); and Cyber Warrant Officer Senior Program Manager (Proponent) at the U.S. Cyber School, Fort Eisenhower, GA. Prior to being selected as the CWOB, CW5 Matthews served as the Technical Director for the Cyber Training and Education Directorate.

CW5 Matthews’ military education includes all Warrant Officer Professional Military Education (PME) levels, the Joint Cyber Analysis Course, and the Mission Commander Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and an MBA specializing in Project Management.
