1SG Bednarek has served in numerous Public Affairs positions throughout his career including: Public Affairs Specialist, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas, and 210th Field Artillery Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, South Korea; Operations NCO, 24th Press Camp Headquarters, Fort Bliss, Texas; AIT Instructor, Basic Public Affairs Specialist Course / Mass Communication Foundations Course, Defense Information School, Fort Meade, Maryland; Senior Public Affairs NCO (G-39), 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Humphreys, South Korea; and Policy and Doctrine Writer, Army Public Affairs Center, Fort Meade, Maryland. He most recently served as the Public Affairs NCOIC for the 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. 1SG Bednarek has one combat deployment to Iraq (Operation New Dawn) in 2011.

1SG Bednarek’s military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Master Leader Course, Instructor Training Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education I, Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Prevention Course, and Doctrine Developers Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 2010.

1SG Bednarek’s awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (6 Oak Leaf Clusters), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters), Good Conduct Medal (4th Medal), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (1 Service Star), Global War on Terror Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2).
