Lt. Col. Ryan S. Hand

Battalion Commander, 401st Cyber Battalion

LTC Ryan S. Hand most recently served as the Chief of Future Operations and Plans (J35) for Joint Force Headquarters – Cyber (Army) at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.
 
LTC Hand is a native of Maryland, and graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia. He began his military career in the Signal Corps at Fort Gordon, Georgia in 2006. His first assignment was at Fort Gordon where he held several positions with the 63rd Expeditionary Signal Battalion, including Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Battalion Assistant S3. During this time, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, attached to 2nd Cavalry Regiment (Stryker).
 
LTC Hand’s follow-on Army assignments included: Information Systems Manager, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Computer Science Instructor and Director of IT Systems / Services, United States Military Academy at West Point.
 
LTC Hand’s key Cyber assignments include: Deputy Commander of Joint Task Force Three and National Mission Team Leader, Cyber National Mission Force, 781st Military Intelligence Battalion; Combat Mission Team Leader, JFHQ-C (Army), 782nd Military Intelligence Battalion; and assignments as operations and plans officer at Joint Force Headquarters – Cyber (Army), and at U.S. Army Cyber Command.
 
LTC Hand holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Colorado - Boulder, and a Master of Arts in Military Operations from the School of Advanced Military Studies, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
