SGM Jose Rodriguez is a native of Miami where he enlisted in the Army in May 2004; he attended Basic Training and Infantry Advance Individual Training at Fort Benning, GA. SGM Rodriguez reclassed to the Signal Corps (25E) in 2010. He graduated from Excelsior University with a Master’s Degree in Business Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Leadership and Development.
SGM Rodriguez’s military education includes the US Army Air Assault School, Army combative’ s Level 1&2, Electromagnetic Spectrum Operation Course, all NCOPD course to include the Sergeants Major Academy (Class 73), Equal Opportunity Course, and the Master Fitness Trainer Course.
Upon completion of One Station Unit Training (OSUT), he was assigned to Delta Company 2/4 Infantry Battalion 4
th Brigade 10
th Mountain Division. In December 2007 he was assigned to Miami Recruiting BN as a detailed Recruiter. In December 2011, after completing Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager Course at Fort Gordon, GA, he was assigned to the 12
th Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB), Katterbach, Germany. He deployed to Afghanistan, as the Brigade Spectrum Manager, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom XIII. In December 2015 he was assigned to the Cyber Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (CNCOA) as a Small Group Leader (SGL) for the Senior Leader Course (SLC) Fort Gordon, GA. He was then assigned to C Co. 442D SIG BN where was the Spectrum Management Instructor/Writer for the 25E30/25E40Ph1/ASIS9/ACES-JACS Courses. SGM Rodriguez was then assigned to the 3
rd Infantry Division G6 Fort Stewart, GA where he performed his duties as the Spectrum Chief and NETOPS NCOIC before his PCS to the 1
st Theater Signal Brigade, Camp Humphreys Korea.
SGM Rodriguez has numerous awards and citations. The Meritorious Service Medal 1 oak leaf cluster, Purple Heart 1 oak leaf cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with “V” device and 4 oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with 3 oak leaf cluster, the Army Good Conduct Medal (5
th Award), the National Defense Award, the Afghan Campaign Medal with 2 campaign stars, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5 device), the Army Service Ribbon, the Meritorious Volunteer Service Medal, the Over Seas Service Ribbon (2
nd Award), the NATO Medal (2
nd Award), the Combat Infantry Badge, Marksmanship Badge (Expert), Air Assault Badge, Driver Badge (Wheel), the Army Gold Recruiter Badge with two Sapphires and the Basic Instructor Badge.
