Command Sergeant Major Lisa M. Gandy enlisted in the United States Army on 30 December 1997 as a 31F (Network Switching Systems Operator/ Maintainer), attending Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Jackson, SC, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at then Fort Gordon, Ga. ​

Her most recent assignment was as the Brigade Command Sergeant Major, 22d Corps Signal Brigade, Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA.​
CSM Gandy has held various positions throughout her career, including Small Extension Node (SEN) Operator, and Team Chief, Node Center Switch Supervisor, Battalion Schools NCO, Section Chief, Special Assistance Operator and NCOIC of the White House Switchboard, BCT Drill Sergeant and First Sergeant, Brigade Communications Chief, G6 Network Operations NCOIC, G6 Sergeant Major, Security Cooperation Division (SCD) Sergeant Major, Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Gandy’s military and civilian education includes White House Console Controller Course, Basic Instructor Course, Combatives Level 1, Drill Sergeant School, Battle Staff NCO Course, Security Cooperation Planners Course, the Sabalauski Air Assault School, and all levels of NCO Professional Military Education. She is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeant’s Major Academy and the FORSCOM Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership. CSM Gandy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics from Empire State College - State University of New York.​
