Electromagnetic Warfare Officer - 17B

Purpose

As a Cyber Electromagnetic Warfare Officer, you will lead and conduct cyberspace and electromagnetic warfare operations within Army and Joint Service formations. You'll utilize personnel, resources, and capabilities to engage adversaries in and through the cyberspace domain and electromagnetic spectrum to affect or attack personnel, facilities, networks, or equipment; protect friendly personnel, facilities, networks, and equipment from cyberspace or electromagnetic attack, as well as, friendly or adversary use of the electromagnetic spectrum; and detect, intercept, identify, and locate/localize adversary electromagnetic vulnerabilities to enable future operations.

Requirements

  • Be a college graduate with at least a four-year degree
  • Be between 18 and 34 years old
  • Officer Basic Leadership Course (Or Additional Special Courses/Qualifications)
  • Able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Training

Cyber Electromagnetic Warfare Officers receive approximately three months of specialized training focused in the following areas:

  • Electronics Theory
  • Communications and Electromagnetic Spectrum-Based Attacks
  • Electromagnetic Attack, Support, and Protection
  • CEMA Support to Operations
  • EW Ground Operations
